Snip Posted September 29, Posted September 29, Only my screen displays 16 colours, and its biggest possible screen area is x pixels. It also says " Display: default monitor on VGA" It is the same monitor as before, and it is perfectly capable of displaying much better. How can I change this? Should i download something?

Where from? Or install a file from the cd again? If so, what would the file be called? I really hope someone can help me
 More sharing options If you still have the driver disk for you monitor I suggest you run that also the same for your display adaptor. Hang in there. The fact that you have only 16 colours says that no drivers are installed for your graphics. If it is Nvidia you can get the drivers from here. DLL file is concerned it can be downloaded here.

All those things it lists, are they all in my computer? Lots of intel, [ut i suppose that is a completely different thing? Where should I look anyway? Again, I saw no display adapter listed anywhere. I do apologize for being so computer ignorant! Snip Posted September 30, Posted September 30, I am awake again now.. You are not computer ignorant, we all have to start somewhere.

It is a 40mb download. Then clck on the shortcut on you desktop and follow the instillation instructions. For the ATI driver you need W with service pack 4 installed. As i have never used an ATI card, I will have to leave you in the more capable hands of the other forum members, because there are two downloads, one for raedeon graphics cards and one for motherboard integrated graphics Did you download Everest, if you did run it and click on summary and see what it says under DISPLAY.

And finally you do not need to register for ATI drivers. If no one else picks this up I will try to guide you through the ATI driver process. More Information Mode pruning is a method by which a list of supported capabilities of a video card is reconciled with a list of capabilities of the monitor.

Resolved my issue. Clear instructions. Easy to follow. No jargon. Pictures helped. Didn't match my screen. Incorrect instructions. Too technical.
