Stand at the door, facing in and pretend to open the door. If it swings in, will it cover a shower or a sink? If it swings out, will it cover a closet or bump into a piece of furniture? If the bath is small, a pocket door really must be considered. I will say, a pocket door has to really be installed correctly. Most of them comes with cheap roller hardware , so to make them quieter , go to the local hardware store and but a higher quality set.

They are not expensive at all. If you have a contractor, just ask him to do this. One other thing to consider with a pocket is , do you have the correct empty wall space for the install.
